I am now officially a Mommy to 3!
Yep! Thats right...a little beauty has made her debut...and 2 weeks early to be exact!
See! I woke up on May 26th with some contractions. They where intently occurring in my back, every 3-5 minutes. Hmm, I thought! Are these real, or am I being teased like the week before...
The week before, at about 10pm, I was having contractions that started 7 minutes apart, then made their way to 5 minutes apart, and where just not going away! So we went to the hospital....only to have them stop 20 minutes after we got there! /sigh Very frustrating. Home we came....tired, cranky, sore!
So this time, instead of going after an hour like your supposed too, I waited 2 hours...just to make sure. Because I seriously did not want to waste more time chilling in a hospital in those ungodly uncomfortable beds! 2 hours pass and Im still contracting. Fun! Call the doctor and he says to go in. So Larry jumps in the shower really fast and what do I do, start folding laundry...because really, what else can I do.
We get to the hospital and they put me in a room and hook me up to those lovely monitors. I have a nurse monitor me for an hour and things are going. Then the fun begins...
The 2nd shift nurse comes in and I swear, she is the Hitler of Labor nurses. She so made me feel like I was faking my contractions. She told me I was dehydrated and that was probably why I was having contractions. In went an IV with a bag of fluids. I was not allowed to have anything to drink! She came in and adjusted the contraction monitor and told me "Not To Touch It!" like I was playing with it or something....then a little later she told me that she wanted to "feel and see" when I was having a contraction to "See what was REALLY going on...." by then, Larry was getting PISSED OFF! During all this she comes in with a shot to give me to stop the contractions. I asked her why because my doctor had told me that anything that happens after 37 weeks, he wouldnt stop. She then told me that doctors are not allowed to do a c-section before 37 weeks and if he did, it would go to a commitee for review, and that my doctor doesnt really care if it goes to committee but she is insisting that my contractions needed to be stopped. Normally they give 2 doses of this shot, but my doctor said to only give me one. Much to her dismay, it only made my contractions come harder...instead of stopping, and holy balls did it speed up my pulse and it gave me the shakes. She told me I was still going to be there a little bit, so I told Larry to go get the kids some mcdonalds, pick up his sister, and take them all back to our house....then come back to the hospital.
Larry was gone for about an hour doing all of that, and when he came back, about 20 minutes later they come in and say they are doing my c-section that night. PANIC!
They prep me and get Larry some scrubs. Take me into the operating room to give me my epidural. As soon as I walked into that room, I started shaking uncontrolably! I got SO cold and my fingers where turning purple. They lay me down and have Larry come in. And Im starting to cry a little because for some reason, Im nervous. He is comforting me and telling me everything is going to be ok! While waiting for the doctor to start, I am for some reason trying to wiggle my toes, and then freaking out because my brain is telling my toes SO HARD to wiggle, and they just WONT! Doctor starts and I seriously just want to hear that baby cry! Then I feel the pressure and yanking on my body, they tell me that they almost have the head out, and a couple seconds later I hear suction which I assume is them cleaning her lungs! And then I hear it....
Sweetest. Sound. Ever! A BRAND NEW BABY'S CRY! They quickly clean her off and then give her right to Larry for skin to skin contact. And thats when I laid eyes on her.
Miss V made her debut on May 26th at 10:05pm She weighed 6lbs 14oz and was 20inches long. She has a head of brown hair and blue eyes!
And She is PERFECT! And mom can sleep with NO body aches! :) Its a win-win!
