Therapy

Vanessa had her 18 month check up a few days ago. I was looking forward to this appointment just as much as I was not looking forward to it.

See, Vanessa has says mama, dada, & baba but right before we moved here (or shortly after) she has stopped talking completely. She doesn't utter a single word. It's very frustrating especially when she wants something and we can't figure out what. This probably is another reason why she cries so much. Not the whole reason but part.

Her doctor was concerned with this an told us at her 15 month checkup that if she isnt talking by 18 months, she would put her in therapy.

And here we are. 18 months and not a peep. I'm saddened by this that my baby needs therapy to talk. She is also ring evaluated for some other things she does. Someone at work mentioned having her evaluated for autism. That right there scares me. I can say right now, that I don't have the patience to deal with autism. I don't mind autistic children, but I know I don't have the capability to be the mom of an autistic child.

So Monday I call to set up a speech therapy appointment for my 18 month old. :/ Hopefully this goes smoothly and quickly and helps and gets her going so I can start complaining about how she wont shut up.
